Conversion of Foreign Driving Licence

To drive a vehicle in Singapore, you must possess a valid Singapore driving licence for the class of vehicle that you want to drive. This requirement not only applies to all citizens and permanent residents but also foreigners who are residing in Singapore for more than 12 months.

Before applying for a Singapore driving licence, the applicant is required to pass the Basic Theory Test (BTT).

To register for a Basic Theory Test for conversion of foreign driving licence, you may:
- Come down personally to the centre.

Documents to produce during registration in person:
- NRIC / Valid passport and valid work permit / student pass / employment pass.
- Payment by NETS or Cashcard only.

You may contact the Traffic Police at 6547 0000 or check with the Traffic Police counter at the driving centres for any other matters pertaining to the conversion of your foreign driving licence during their operating hours.

Saturday : 0830hrs - 1230hrs
